about emilia
she/her/hers
My name is Emilia and I am a Registered Social Worker with the BC College of Social Workers (registrant #14554), a Yoga Teacher (RYT-200), and a Breath Work Teacher based in Vancouver, BC.
Just as I encourage you to bring your whole self into our work together, I strive to do the same—showing up first and foremost as a human, and then as a therapist and teacher second. So here’s a small glimpse into how I move through the world beyond the titles:
I feel most at peace when I'm soaking up sunshine, breathing in fresh air, or spending quiet moments near the water. I treasure slow mornings, the first sip of a latte, and getting lost in a book. I'm an unapologetic cat lover (and I make no secret of it). You’ll often find me dancing freely without choreography or running the Seawall and North Shore trails with friends. Right now, the values guiding me most are creativity, authenticity, and trusting my intuition.
my approach
I have been working therapeutically with children, youth and their families for +5 years. In my therapeutic work, I hold a deep commitment to helping youth, young adults, and their loved ones navigate the complex challenges of eating disorders, disordered eating, and the surrounding emotional landscape. Alongside this, I have a specialized focus in supporting those living with anxiety, low mood, body image concerns, perfectionism, past trauma, and relational difficulties, with a particular interest in working with girls and women. My hope is to support you in reclaiming your sense of self and well-being and cultivating a sense of inner strength, self-compassion, and a balanced, fulfilling life.
In addition to my therapeutic work, I am a yoga teacher and active breath work teacher. I have been a student of yoga for +10 years and view it as a great privilege to hold the seat of the teacher. As in my therapeutic work, my guidance in these areas largely comes from a place of wanting to support others to feel at home in their mind, bodies and soul.
My approach, regardless of modality, weaves together evidence-based and somatic practices to help individuals connect with their own wisdom. Together, we will be attuned to fostering self-awareness, emotion regulation and move beyond focusing solely on surface-level behaviors to explore the underlying emotional, relational, spiritual and neurobiological layers of your experience.
I prioritize trauma-informed and anti-oppressive practices to facilitate a sense of safety and collaboration. I value embodying receptivity, authenticity and compassion in my all of my work to create a supportive and non-judgmental space where healing, growth, and transformation can take place.
I am currently accepting new clients in all modalities.
