Therapy

Virtual therapy available to residents of British Columbia

Therapy is both a practical tool and a sacred journey—an exploration of the mind and soul where self-awareness and healing unfold. It is a space to untangle the hidden patterns that shape our experiences, dissolving old wounds and making way for growth. Through conversation, reflection, and guidance, therapy offers clarity, resilience, and emotional balance. Like a lantern in the fog, therapy illuminates the path to deeper understanding, helping us navigate life with intention, reminding us that even our darkest moments hold the potential for transformation.

My clinical experience takes roots from +5 years of working in public mental health care, including working as a Social Work Clinician in the BC Children’s Hospital Provincial Specialized Eating Disorders Program and previously in the areas of both acute child, adolescent and adult psychiatry and community-based family therapy.

My therapeutic approach tends to be warm, direct, intuitive, and compassionate. I prioritize relationship building and getting creative in interventions to best meet the needs of the individual in front of me.

Therapeutic offerings

Individual therapy

When working one-on-one together, my intention is to create a safe, non-judgemental container to support your journey inward. My hope is that I can provide you with the space to explore, unravel, soften, connect the dots, develop new insight and meaning, experience relational safety and feel it all, including joy, levity and laughter. You will set goals that feel important to your evolution and healing and we’ll work together to find your unique path forward.

Therapy is all about fit, so if you are curious about my approach would be a good match for you, I welcome you to book a no cost 15-minute consultation.

60 minute session - $150

Family therapy

Because we all exist in the context of our relationships, environments, and past experiences of being cared for and providing care, there may be great benefit in bringing multiple voices into the therapy room. My work is to guide families through open conversations to shed light on the multigenerational patterns that have led to present day hurt, misunderstandings and unmet emotional needs. Families define their own goals in this process, with common intentions being to reduce negativity and blame, deepen awareness of intention versus impact, or to improve trust, empathy and connection. I predominately work from an attachment based and emotion focused lens where improving the quality of the relationships is seen as the primary way families find change.

I welcome all definitions of family to this work, including chosen family.

Price:

60 minute session - $180

Eating disorder therapy

For children and adolescents dealing with eating disorders, I offer Family Based Treatment (FBT) as a first line treatment. Integrated in my approach includes skills and strategies from Emotion Focused Family Therapy (EFFT) and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT). Please note, for FBT to be successful, caregiver participation is vital.

For teens, transitional age youth and adults who may wish to pursue a more individualized approach, we can work together to get a sense of what your goals are and what approaches may be helpful.

Prices:

Individual 60 minute session - $150

Family 60 minute session - $180

What to expect…

  • Beginning

Therapy is all about fit. We’ll begin with a 15-minute no cost consultation over the phone or zoom to give you a sense of whether my approach would be a good fit for you.

If you would like to proceed, you’ll be welcome to book in for your first session using the Jane App platform. Once you set up your account, there will be a short intake and consent form for you to review ahead of your first session. You’re welcome to bring any questions about this form to your first session.

  • Building Connection

Once you are set up on the Jane App platform, we’ll focus our initial sessions on getting to know each other. I’ll invite you to share more about what brings you to therapy, your hopes for working together, your current situation, and whatever else that may be helpful for me to know to best support you.

I prioritize practicing from a trauma-informed lens, which means I aim to provide you with choice and control on which topics we cover and how quickly we jump in. I may also ask for your feedback so I can gauge how my approach is landing for you and where I may need to be flexible.

  • Ebbing & Flowing

At this point, we may have a good sense of each other and we’re doing some deeper work, such as learning new skills and strategies, processing past pain, releasing old patterns and making room for new ways of being. The hope is that we are making progress towards your goals and gaining some insights along the way.

The cadence in which we see each other at this point may vary. Some individuals may want weekly sessions, whereas others may feel comfortable spacing it out to every other week or monthly.

  • Ending

At some point, you may feel you have integrated the skills, tools, understanding and way of being that you were hoping to gain by coming to therapy or you may wish to take a break to recalibrate. If this is the case, we’ll close things up in a good way by celebrating all of your growth. It’s not often that we get to end relationships in a way that feels good out in the “real world” so I prioritize allowing therapy be an exception to that.

In your final session, you will be reminded that all parts of you are always welcome back.

"She wanted peace. So she forgot all she was taught and remembered herself."
